Sentry Turrets by default have 50% armor penetration. This means they only do 15 damage against armor, and can not deal health damage against an enemy until armor is broken.
The AP Turret skill increases the sentry turret's armor penetration from 50% to 150%, which allows it to bypass armor and deal 15 armor damage and 15 health damage in the same shot. Shields and bulldozers will not take health damage until their armor is broken.

This skill is invaluable for sentry turret users, as it greatly reduces the number of shots required to kill armored enemies. Almost all enemies will die to the sentry turret before their armor is even broken. Template:Payday 3 skills
