The Akimbo Igor Automatik pistols are a primary weapon available in PAYDAY 2. It is available to players who own Federales Weapon Pack.

Overview

As the akimbo version of the Igor Automatik, these pistols feature fully-automatic firing. Combined with their high damage, they can make short work of the vast majority of enemies. However, its low ammo pool requires players to aim their shots carefully to conserve ammo. Its low stability may also be a problem, causing the user to waste shots without careful aim.

It also has the bonus of possessing one of the highest unmodified magazine capacities of all akimbo pistols (alongside the STRYK 18c). This can be extended further with its Extended Magazine mod and skills, giving it the highest magazine size of all akimbo pistols.

Tips

• Like the Akimbo STRYK 18c and the other Federales pistols, the Akimbo Igor Automatik's firing mode cannot be locked when modifying it, allowing it to switch freely between semi automatic and fully automatic. However, due to the shallow ammo pool and pickup rate, it is best to leave the Akimbo Igor Automatik on semi-automatic most of the time, only switching to full auto to deal with special units or close-up crowds.
  • Be especially wary of Tasers when the gun is set on full-auto mode, as they can drain enormous amounts of precious ammo.
• It is strongly recommended to equip the Extended Magazine modification, take Gun Nut basic, or both, increasing the Igor Automatik's capacity and reducing its reloading downtime. Bloodthirst Ace also provides a good alternative to combat frequent reloads.

• Additionally, all of the Federales pistols tremendously benefit from the Fugitive skills in the Gunslinger tree:
  • One Handed Talent Ace provides up to 15 additional damage per shot, making it an always welcomed damage boost, particularly on Deathwish to combat tougher enemies.
  • Trigger Happy significantly boosts the damage output of the Akimbo Igor Automatik by 120% on successful shots, especially in full auto firing mode, allowing it to function as a quasi-assault rifle. With One Handed Talent, the Akimbo Igor Automatik can kill most enemies with one semi-auto tap to the head.
  • Gun Nut Basic provides 5 additional bullets per magazine, helping the Akimbo Igor Automatik utilize full auto firing. The Aced version provides a 50% increase in rate of fire, effectively giving it a firing rate of 1,125 rounds a minute, though extra ammo may be wasted from shooting more rounds than intended at targets.
  • Desperado makes the Akimbo Igor Automatik more accurate on successive shots, helping to engage enemies at a distance or control the gun in full auto mode. The Ace version reduces reloading times by 50%, helping to manage frequent reloading.
• The Akimbo Igor Automatik's large ammo pool can be further improved with Fully Loaded, as the basic version will grant the Akimbo Igor Automatik 150 rounds total, and will also make more efficient usage of Ammo bags. Akimbo the skill grants 180 total rounds.
  • Fully loaded, Akimbo, and the Hitman perk deck grant a maximum ammo count of 240 rounds for the Akimbo Igor Automatik.

Trivia

• The Igor Automatik is based on the Stechkin automatic pistol as well as the Gletcher CO2 airsoft replica. Its in-game name is a reference to the APS' designer, Igor Stechkin.
• While the single version correctly features a heel magazine release, this akimbo variant incorrectly releases mags via (non-existent) thumb buttons.
• Like STRYK 18c, it is one of the only seven non-LMG fully automatic to lack custom selective fire function, alongside the Chicago Typewriter, Swedish K, MP40, and its brethren in the DLC pack. The Typewriter, STRYK 18c, this weapon and its brethren, however, do have an in-built selector switch which Swedish K and MP40 lack.
