The Akimbo Jackal submachine guns are a primary weapon available in PAYDAY 2 that was added in Update #178.

Jackal submachine guns can be dual-wielded in the primary weapon slot for their greatly increased damage output at the cost of precise aiming, stability and the opportunity cost of being unable to use other primaries.

All akimbo weapon modifications cost 40% extra than their normal price.

Skins[]

Trivia[]

  • The Jackal was based on the Heckler & Koch UMP45, modified with a TROY Modular Vertical Grip. Prior to its official introduction to the player's arsenal, the Jackal with a See More Sight was used by Murkywater mercenaries.
    • Although the weapon is modeled after the UMP45 as evident by the ".45 ACP" engraving on its bolt, its fire rate (the actual UMP45 has an even lower RPM of 600) and magazine capacity (UMP45 submachine guns have a default capacity of 25) are more akin to the lower-caliber UMP variants.
    • Despite being apparently milspec, the Jackal also bears the caution to read the user manual above the fire selector, a feature not present on military UMPs.
  • According to its receiver texture, the Jackal's marketed name is SG AMP and is a product of the German company "Schäfer & Gewehr GmbH", the same manufacturer as the Gewehr 3, Bootleg, Little Friend 7.62, Compact 40mm, M13 9mm and Contractor.
  • The name "Jackal" might have come from the Daedalus community heist concept, where a weapon resembling the UMP45 named "JACKAL" would be included with the heist.
  • The Akimbo Jackal's stocks are folded by default, but despite this, its inventory icon and the FBI Files depict them with their stocks unfolded.
  • The Akimbo Jackals may feel as if they are firing faster than the standalone weapon despite the unchanged rate-of-fire. This is due to the fact that the left-handed weapon will always fire immediately after the right-handed one, resulting in a more rapid, if not doubled, series of discharges.

Bugs & Glitches[]

  • The Akimbo Jackal is currently bugged with the Extended Magazine giving +2 Concealment and the Short Magazine giving -2 Concealment.
