The Akimbo Krinkov submachine guns are a primary weapon available in PAYDAY 2.

Overview

Two Krinkov SMGs can be dual-wielded as the player's primary weapon. This greatly increases their damage output at the cost of impaired precision aiming, reduced stability and quite obviously, the lack of a more capable primary.

All akimbo weapon modifications cost 40% more than their normal price.

Summary

Pros:

• Ludicrous damage output - practically no enemy proves troublesome for how fast these kill at close range, especially since Akimbo SMG's deal increased damage up close.
• Available from the start and is way cheaper than the standalone version.
• Can reach super high accuracy and concealment.
• Exceed crucial breakpoints for higher difficulties.
• Higher ammo pickup rate than the singular version and among one of the highest of all akimbo weapons for their damage class.

Cons:

• Insane recoil with automatic fire.
• One trigger pull fires both guns, potentially leading to ammo wastage.
• Many expensive attachments may put it out of reach for new players.
• No sight, aiming only provides a nominal zoom, as with all akimbo weapons a laser sight is practically necessary.

Tips

• It's often better to switch to semi-auto for the greater precision, ammo efficiency and lighter recoil.
• On Mayhem+, the Akimbo Krinkovs can be modified to instantly kill Heavy SWAT's to the head. It's more reliable to use Crits for picking them off from outside close range than modifying them for sheer damage as you sacrifice accuracy and stability.
• As with any akimbo weapon, Tasers are the most threatening target. As being tased will guzzle through your ammo supply.
• Ammo bags are recommended if one struggles with ammo conservation. Fully Loaded and/or Akimbo aced further remedy ammo issues.
• When used with Critical Hits the Akimbo Krinkovs may be one of, if not the best, weapons for permanently destroying enemy SWAT Turrets on heists such as The Biker Heist or the ending sequence of Henry's Rock due to the monstrous DPS. Getting as close as possible and firing in full auto will shred the armor and/or the turret's weak point lens in a matter of seconds.

It is not a genuine PBS owing to the fact that the real suppressor has a solid rubber wipe at the end of the barrel that essentially blocks the muzzle end until fired through. Although the main flashlight has a toggle switch, the laser sight component of the LED Combo is pressure-activated, meaning the laser will stay on as long as the pressure switch is depressed. This switch is not placed where it should be, however (on foregrips, magazine wells, etc...) and is instead ziptied to the main taclight, leaving no plausible mean for the user to toggle it without awkwardly moving their off hand off the weapon and gripping the attachment itself. The various Speed Pull Magazines are based on the Magpul Original Magpul® – 5.56 NATO and Original Magpul® – 9mm Subgun, with the exception of the Kobus 90's, which simply utilizes a yellow strap. Strangely, despite using magazines identical to, using magazines similar to, or capable of using magazines used on other guns compatible with the Speed Pull Magazine, it cannot be equipped on the Compact-5, CMP, Commando 553, SpecOps, Blaster 9mm, Uzi, Clarion, Patchett L2A1, Lion's Roar, Jacket's Piece, and Micro Uzi. The Eagle Heavy is equipped with an Original Magpul® – 7.62 NATO by default, but it does not increase the weapon's reload speed, nor can it be equipped with the Speed Pull Magazine. Due to it supporting a wide array of weapons, the Speed Pull Magazine is the first single modification to have multiple different icons. The Speed Pull Magazine equips the AMCAR, Para, and AMR-16 with the Milspec Mag., but despite this they neither get increased magazine capacity nor reduced concealability, however it equips the Mark 10 with its Extended Mag and does give it increased magazine size, but does not increase stability nor does it decrease its concealment. Additionally, equipping the Speed Pull Magazine on the AK.762, Golden AK.762, and Krinkov will give them the AK's 5.45mm Bakelite magazine, despite the mismatched caliber. Trivia

• The Akimbo Krinkovs are based on the AKMSU, as indicated by its internal name in the weapon asset files and the AKMS's ribbed cover. Being essentially an aftermarket-modified AKM(S), this would explain the weapon's high damage per shot and its severe recoil.
  • "Krinkov" is a nickname of (presumable) Middle-Eastern origin used to call the AKS-74U in the United States. This term is now commonly used as a slang name to identify all shortened AK variants.
  • Barrel Extensions fitted onto the Akimbo Krinkovs will sit in front of the weapon's stock flash hider. This is actually a more realistic depiction of the AKMSU as the muzzle device contains an expansion chamber to correctly cycle the carbine, which makes it a requisite component rather than cosmetic.
• The Akimbo Krinkovs may feel as if they are firing faster than the standalone weapon despite the unchanged rate-of-fire. This is due to the fact that the left-handed weapon will always fire immediately after the right-handed one, resulting in a more rapid, if not doubled, series of discharges.
• The foregrip mods increase the weapons' stability despite the weapons not being held by the foregrip. This could, however, be explained by the materials of the foregrip weighing down the weapon.
