Description
The gold that the cops stole from Vlad is held in a police depot out in the Bronx. You need to find your way into the evidence room and get your hands on that gold.

Boys In Blue is a DLC heist in PAYDAY 3, released on June 28th, 2024.

Backstory[]

Vlad contacts the PAYDAY gang offering info the crew wants, but in exchange for the info (and Clover's assistance, who recently re-emerged from hiding) that they want, Vlad contracts the gang to re-obtain several gold bars confiscated by a corrupt police captain named Blythe. These gold bars were legitimately owned by Vlad in one of his many business fronts to ward of the IRS, but the corrupt police officers from a branch located in the Bronx raided his business on false premises of drug investigations.

Strategies[]

Stealth[]

As almost all of the guards have been replaced with cops, it is highly recommended you avoid getting cuffed, as while ordinarily it would simply begin a search mode, a player getting cuffed during stealth for acting suspicious will instead cause the stealth portion to fail entirely.

Favors[]

  • Inside Man: An additional QR code spawns near the starting location.
  • Mechanic Bribe: The keys needed to unlock the escape van on loud is left in the police station's offices to collect, rather than in a safe.
  • Fake 911 Calls: There are fewer guards in the station.
  • Sewer Entrance: Players start out in the back of the station rather than at the entrance.

Trivia[]

  • This heist is unique in that during stealth, all security are street cops, sharing the same behavior but if cuffing a player or spotting anything suspicious, will sound the alarm. Shade at the start will also warn of this.
    • The lead guard, as such, is also a cop, just wearing the signature vest with Radio over the uniform.
    • Despite this, the camera operator is still a normal GenSec security guard.
  • If using the Mechanic Bribe favor and going loud, but reaching the end without grabbing the car keys beforehand, Shade will complain that the mechanic she bribed was meant to leave the key in the car itself rather than in the offices' evidence boxes.

The Two Cops[]

  • Two cops outside the station can be heard discussing several topics, with two notable ones:
    • A topic referencing Jacket and Hotline Miami is brought up, bringing up up a recent case involving a group of Russian mobsters brutally attacked by an unidentified perpetrator in the southern parts of the United States, with them wondering whether it is related to a case "in '89", the year that Hotline Miami take place.
      • This is further referenced in the Dragan Files, where Dragan and Shade briefly discuss the possibility of another surviving Payday member killing mobsters in the same region, with the added detail that the location was looted clean by the perpetrator, which the both of them believes to be a 'hallmark' of a former Payday member.
    • A conspiracy theory about the Kataru business, a group prominently featured throughout PAYDAY 2.
      • However, while the conspiracy they discuss correctly identify certain functions of the Kataru, several mistakes are made:
        • They believes the conspiracy to be headed by interdimensional beings (still led by kings) spying on the world's population, entering the world via a portal underneath the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, or the Pentagon. These portals do not exist and is actually underneath the White House, as seen in its associated heist.
          • The portals may be a reference to an unused PAYDAY 2 concept where, after Bain becomes the 46th President of the United States, the heisters would've been transported to another universe.
        • They identify one of the kings as holding an "ordinary day job", such as an orthodontist, a veterinarian, a gynaecologist or a pediatrician. It was actually a dentist.
      • The dialogue implies that the general populace was made aware of the Kataru business after the Payday gang's dealings underneath the White House, though in such obscure detail that many people generally consider it to be a mere conspiracy theory than a real event.
        • Interestingly, The Dentist (or at least a position related to medicine) is the only Kataru king ever 'identified' by one of the cops (even if the assumed occupation is incorrect), indicating that Vlad and The Elephant may have evaded detection from conspiracy theorists.
        • It also appears they are unaware the Kataru's influence have long since faded and the Dentist was killed after confronting the Payday crew underneath the White House.

Bugs[]

  • In the evidence room, an odd lighting issue causes any paint schemes on players' masks or guns (customised or part of the gun by default) to temporarily lose colour until they leave the area. This only happens should the wall to the evidence room be blown up during Loud.
