The Cavity 9mm combines accuracy and lightweight in one very versatile and foldable package. Ideal for any heister wanting to avoid unwanted attention from the law.
The Cavity 9mm is a compact, high damage semi-automatic rifle. In combat, its raw strength allows the player to kill most enemies with one headshot. It is also reasonably accurate, which helps with nailing down precise shots at long range.
The most obvious downside to using the Cavity is its semi-automatic firing mode. This cannot be changed, even by way of mods, making it ineffective in tight quarters. Its high base recoil also restricts it to firing from long range as well. However by many players this is considered to be one of the best stealth ARs.

Tips[]
The Cavity's greatest strength is its Concealment, perfect for a build using both Sneaky Bastard and Low Blow from the Ghost tree, even the Basic versions. As well as letting you be less restrained on more lower concealment weapons you can bring with it while still having a low detection risk.
Surefire can be a strong pairing with the Cavity. Increasing its magazine size up to 48 and letting it pierce armor when Aced. Helping you kill armored enemies either precisely at range or rapidly at close range if you have a good trigger finger.
Alternatively, its Concealment is high enough that it can be fitted with a scoped sight while still maintaining a very low Detection Risk, allowing a user to act as a spotter when in stealth or making it easier to read information on documents and screens from further away.
Like many weapons of its caliber, bring a weapon that makes up for its poor ammo efficiency. Such as an SMG like the Mark 10.
Aced Aggressive Reload can be a good skill to pick when using this weapon, since it's locked to semi-auto only, meaning that every headshot kill will increase your reload speed.
Builds[]
Specific builds for the Cavity 9mm are heavily skill dependent, as the performance is so strongly affected by the skills mentioned above. In particular the Ghost skills Sneaky Bastard and Low Blow are sensitive to Concealment and therefore the optimum Cavity build may depend on the player's preferred secondary weapon.
Note that in general, the Tooth Fairy Suppressor (-1 dmg, +4 acc, -8 stb, -2 con) underperforms compared to a combination of The Bigger The Better Suppressor and the Appalachian Foregrip (in total: -1 dmg, +8 acc, -12 stb) as extra Stability is available via skills such as Stable Shot.
The Marmon Compensator is based on the Kel-Tec KSG V6 muzzle brake. For some reason, it is treated as a general-purpose muzzle brake for non-shotgun "rifle-sized" weapons, despite being designed and made specifically for the KSG-12 which, strangely enough, isn't compatible with this specific item.
For whatever reason, this muzzle is meant for 308/7.62 NATO, depending on which model of rifles and machine guns that is within that caliber, but it can also be used for the majority of submachine guns, which wouldn't fit with this specific item.

Although the main flashlight has a toggle switch, the laser sight component of the LED Combo is pressure-activated, meaning the laser will stay on as long as the pressure switch is depressed. This switch is not placed where it should be, however (on foregrips, magazine wells, etc...) and is instead ziptied to the main taclight, leaving no plausible mean for the user to toggle it without awkwardly moving their off hand off the weapon and gripping the attachment itself.

The Riktpunkt Magnifier Gadget is based on the Aimpoint 3XMag attached to a toggle mount. Despite this, the mod's asset file name suggests it was based on the EOTech XPS G33 instead.
The magnifier will toggle on and off by itself when in use without any visual input by the player character.
The JP36 carbines wielded by the GenSec Elites have this gadget installed in conjunction with a Compact Holosight, however it didn't become a player-usable item until 2017.

Upon release, the default reticle of this sight was a chevron instead of the retail version's red dot. After the release of the Gage Mod Courier DLC, it was reverted to the regular sight's red dot.
It is functionally the same as the standard Military Red Dot Sight, but the sight's casing is tan instead of black with the line "A-10" scrawled on near the adjustment knob. The sticker on the lens cap's interior also says "I <3 Payday" instead of having a picture of an American flag.

The Reconnaissance Sight is based on the NcSTAR Advanced Dual Optic, but instead of an integral flip-up reflex sight, the in-game model has a rangefinder.

The Cavity 9mm is based on the SUB-2000 carbine. The Appalachian Foregrip transforms it into the SUB-2000 Gen 2.
The weapon appears to utilize a high capacity magazine for the Glock 18/STRYK 18c, despite the real SUB-2000 only being compatible with standard-length ones made for the Glock 17/Chimano 88.
The magazine well of the SUB-2000 was not designed to work with the shelf of the Glock 18's extended magazine. This presents the risk of the magazine being shoved too far up the weapon when reloading and causing a jam.
Despite being based on a carbine that shoots pistol ammunition, the Cavity 9mm is classified as an assault rifle and is the only non-Akimbo 9x19mm primary weapon in the game.
The Cavity has one of the highest assault rifle damage values in the game, equal to the M308, despite being chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. Its damage readout seems more congruous with the .40S&W variant, but even then it's still much too high for a pistol-caliber weapon.
The Cavity is likely loaded with overpressurized ammunition as indicated by the red-tipped bullets, which could somewhat explain its high damage to a degree, though the in-game value is still much too exaggerated for real +P 9x19mm cartridges.
The Cavity 9mm, along with the Galant, are the only assault rifles in the game after the Gage Weapon Pack #01 update to be fixed to semi-automatic, with the M308 having this quality before said update, and the only assault rifles in the game to not have access to the Auto Fire and Single Fire mods.
The front post of the iron sights is missing.
As the Cavity is folded up when not in use, any sights or gadgets mounted on top of the barrel will clip through the receiver and stock. This can be best observed during the slow-mo weapon draw upon masking up in proximity of a guard, camera or civilian.
Lion Game Lion's logo appears twice on the Cavity 9mm's receiver in the base texture, and up to four times with the Delabarre Foregrip.
The "Cavity" in the name of the weapon (and the unique "Tooth Fairy" suppressor) are probable references to the Dentist, the contractor for the heist it is bundled with.
