And the shillelagh really hasn’t evolved too much beyond that. Some prize blackthorn wood, while some might fill the head with molten lead. Others might bind it with leather straps, or cure it with animal fat. But, at the end of the day, it really is just a bloody heavy stick that cracks skulls.

Clover's Shillelagh is a melee weapon available in PAYDAY 2, added with the release of the Clover Character Pack DLC.

Overview[]

The Shillelagh possesses very high knockdown at the cost of low damage. If damage is not the focus, it can be seen as a quicker version of the Ding Dong Breaching Tool as both possess high knockdown. However, its low performance overall makes it outclassed by other melee weapons, most noticeably by the free Lucille Baseball Bat.

Tips[]

Players deal more damage per second with this weapon by attacking as quickly as possible, rather than fully charging attacks.
If a player wishes for more damage, it is recommended that they get Berserker, Pumping Iron and Bloodthirst Aced from the Brawler skill tree.
If a player wishes for more knockdown, use Martial Arts Aced.

Trivia[]

In Irish culture, a shillelagh (pronounced "sail éille") is a short wooden walking stick or cane, usually made out of blackthorn or oak that could also be used as a cudgel or club.
