The Crosskill Guard is a pistol available as a secondary weapon in PAYDAY 2. The Crosskill Guard was added on the 7th day of the Locke and Load event.

OverviewEdit

Despite being a compact variant of the Crosskill, the Crosskill Guard handles very differently, dealing considerably lower damage and (somewhat unrealistically) having a much larger magazine. The Crosskill Guard statistically is a straight upgrade from the Chimano 88 as it has identical statistics except for damage and accuracy.

TipsEdit

  • The Crosskill Guard with its stellar Concealment value of 30 is an excellent choice for a pistol-based SB-LB Dodge build, beating out the previous champion for this role in all stats save for Stability, while allowing for broader latitudes when it comes to attaching mods. Combined with the right melee weapon and armor, a setup of both the normal and akimbo variants of the Crosskill Guard can hit the Detection Risk rock bottom of 3 without much hassle.

TriviaEdit

  • The Crosskill Guard is based on the Colt Defender, as evident by the "flat-faced" slide with a large, flush muzzle. This particular model is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, as noted by the vertical ridges along its magazine's body.
    • The pistol has an extended frame with an undermounting rail that protrudes past the slide on the Locke and Load event site. This is not featured on the release version unless a gadget is installed.
  • The capacity of the Crosskill Guard in game is unrealistically high, holding 17 rounds in an 8-rounder magazine.
