The Czech 92 pistol is a secondary weapon available in PAYDAY 2. It is available to players who own the Federales Weapon Pack.

Overview

The Czech 92's damage per shot is comparative to other high-ammo low-damage pistols such as the Bernetti 9 or Gruber Kurz. However, unlike them and more like the STRYK 18c, the Czech 92 is a machine pistol, capable of firing in semi-auto or full-auto with a single press of the fire selector key, giving it a tactical edge and greater flexibility in more situations.

Compared to the other Federales pistols, the Czech 92 is the well-rounded middle ground of the three, having only a slightly reduced rate of fire compared to the Bernetti Auto and lesser damage per shot compared to the Igor Automatik. However, it does not share the other Federales pistols' most glaring weaknesses, having considerable more damage than the Bernetti Auto and having much better ammo management than the Igor Automatik. Thus, the Czech 92's distinct lack of weaknesses compared to its brethren make it more viable on higher difficulties and against tougher units, far more capable of seeing extended use as a secondary weapon.

With skilled use and a proper build supporting it, the Czech 92 is perhaps the most practical of all four machine pistols, even on the higher difficulties like Deathwish where it can perfectly hold its own as a reliable and accurate pseudo-primary weapon to compliment a more specialized primary, such as the Thanatos .50 cal or the OVE9000 saw, or to further supplement a more standard primary weapon/loadout.

Tips

• Like the STRYK 18c and the other Federales pistols, the Czech 92's firing mode cannot be locked when modifying it, allowing it to switch freely between semi automatic and fully automatic. It is strongly recommended to alternate between semi and full auto depending on the situation to make the most of the machine pistol.
  • Use the Czech 92 in semi-automatic firing mode when ammo is sparse, shooting at isolated enemies, or enemies that are far away. Use the Czech 92 in full auto firing mode when ammo is plentiful, when shooting at groups of enemies, or when shooting at special units, particularly Bulldozers to shred their visors and expose their faces to followup headshots. Swan Song Ace and Bulletstorm Ace are also good full auto alternate incentives.
  • Leaving the gun on full auto and firing in short bursts can also be highly effective.

• Additionally, all of the Federales pistols tremendously benefit from the Fugitive skills in the Gunslinger tree:
  • One Handed Talent Ace provides up to 15 additional damage per shot, making it an always welcomed damage boost, particularly on Deathwish to combat tougher enemies.
  • Trigger Happy significantly boosts the damage output of the Czech 92 by 120% on successful shots, especially in full auto firing mode, allowing it to function as a quasi-assault rifle.
  • Gun Nut Basic provides 5 additional bullets per magazine, helping the Czech 92 utilize full auto firing. The Aced version provides a 50% increase in rate of fire, effectively giving it a firing rate of 1,500 rounds a minute, though extra ammo may be wasted from shooting more rounds than intended at targets.
  • Desperado makes the Czech 92 more accurate on successive shots, helping to engage enemies at a distance or control the gun in full auto mode. The Ace version reduces reloading times by 50%, helping to manage its relatively small magazine capacity and frequent reloading. The same also holds true with the skill taken alongside the Extended Magazine modification.
• Equip a stat boost to further improve the Czech 92's stats however one wishes. Notably, the Concealment stat boost cancels out the Concealment penalty of the Extended Magazine modification, should one want to make a dodge/crit build with it.
