Description |

Time to take John Concord off the field. We've heard that he's relying on some big loans to get his new PMC up and running. Those loans are based on shares he owns in other large corporations. We're going to break into the New York Financial Exchange, snag some broker credentials, and then short all the companies that Concord has equity in. We've also placed some heavy bets against his stocks, so when Concord's values go down, ours will shoot sky-high. Mask up, everybody! We're about to play the stock market!

Fear And Greed is the fourth DLC Heist of PAYDAY 3, added on September 16, 2024.
After the events of Houston Breakout, the Payday gang devises a plan to drain John Concord of his funds, which Shade had discovered were obtained through various investments and shell companies. They concoct a plan to attack Wall Street itself in order to cause panic and short Concord's stocks, hopefully leading to the man who attempted to assassinate them losing all his wealth in the matter of mere minutes.
Mission Briefing[]
TBA
Overview[]
The stock exchange building has two main sections: the two-floor interior and the rooftop.
The rooftop is particularly unnoteworthy aside from containing two boxes with a crane controller (for loud) and power boxes to three potential elevator shafts needed to entire the exchange from the rooftop.

Walkthrough[]
Without the Start inside the Exchange favor, you will always spawn on the rooftop with masks on.
Stealth (Normal)[]
If doing this heist without the maskless favor, it is highly recommended you try to avoid the main floor with the trading booths as much as possible, or at least until you begin shorting Concord's stocks in the Transfer Control room.
If one wishes to traverse the trading floor without alerting the civilians or guards, one can use the Gateway Report booths to activate a TV lure. There are also TVs on the trade booths that serve a similar distraction role. Several civilians will leave the trading booths and watch the TVs for several minutes, allowing heisters to roam the floor with less risk. However, these civilians will only be distracted for those few minutes, and will eventually return to their booths one by one. It is recommended that you only use these lures if you have absolutely no other choice to reach a trading booth to hack.
Stealth (Maskless favor)[]
The Start inside the Exchange favor, which enables maskless stealth, makes the stealth portion laughably easy and trivial with the right skills, particularly skills within the Infiltrator and the Grifter tree. As RUSH is granted from interacting with civilians and gives you the ability to perform illegal activities in front of employees, as well as cameras ignoring you in private area, you are essentially given free reign to do whatever you want in secure areas as long as you have RUSH enabled.
If you wish to cheese the stealth this way, ensure that the curtains in the trading offices (SwapMeet, Jordan Investments) are closed, so cameras do not detect you inside the secure areas. Make sure you also have the appropriate skills that lets you roam freely in these secure areas too, as while guards and cameras do not spawn inside these offices, employees can still detect you trespassing, so having RUSH active with the right skills will let you freely do the objective without fear of getting caught (as long as RUSH is still active).
You cannot activate the EMP in casing mode. Because of this, make sure you have created an escape plan beforehand, as there will be numerous guards and countless civilians around the main floor. Getting caught at this moment will be inconvenient, but you'll still be escape on time, as Bile will land nearby instead of the building across the exchange.
Loud[]
Getting down to the exchange as quickly as possible from the rooftop is important, else the cops swarm you if you don't reach it on time.
Due to the large presence of civilians, it is highly recommended you attempt take hostage as many as possible, especially those on the main floor. However, this will prove difficult to achieve as going loud on the roof gives civilians much time to escape the premises, especially when the main entrance is within close proximity, which may be mitigated with the Shutter Control favor to prevent them from escaping through the main entrances (although they will still use alternative exits as a means of escape).
If possible, attempt to take the civilian carrying a red keycard hostage as soon as possible. The Transfer Control room can only be accessed with a keycard, with the slower alternative being a traditional drill. If one wishes to complete the heist as soon as possible, then finding the keycard is important.
BE WARY OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. A significant amount of cops will spawn throughout the loud portion of the heist, overwhelming players doing the objective.
Insider Assets/Favors[]
- Shutter Control (LOUD): Shade will trigger shutter controls once the heist goes loud, keeping the cops out during the first responders phase of the assault. Cops will also be unable to enter through the main entrance, nor will the civilians be able to escape through there.
- Relocated Stockbrokers: Due to schedule manipulation, civilians (including those with red keycards) will be relocated to the speaking hall and the meeting rooms.
- Start inside the Exchange: Instead of starting on the rooftop with masks, heisters will instead spawn in the exchange ground floor maskless as part of a tour group.
- Sleeping Gas: A canister of sleeping gas spawns in the map, intended to knock civilians inside the Transfer Control room out.
Trivia[]
- Previews of Fear & Greed were shown at Gamescom 2024[1].
- The teaser trailer was accompanied by the Stock & Loaded event.
- In the launch trailer of Fear & Greed, which depicts Wolf having a daydream of being a famous Wall Street broker, several easter eggs can be seen:
- A small Dallas can be seen following Wolf from behind.
- A Bulldozer with a drill stuck in his right eye can be seen in the crowd, a reference to Wolf killing a Bulldozer with a drill in the Hoxton Breakout trailer.
- The infamous "NEBULA DATA ERROR" screen from PAYDAY 3's launch can be seen on a billboard while Wolf is signing an autograph during his daydream.
- This is the only heist where the player spawns already masked (a favor can be used to spawn unmasked).
- Civilian cleaner cost is not accounted for in this heist as the money earned is through the amount stolen from the Wall Street stock exchange rather than bagged loot or small lootable items.
- A lootable hockey statue can be found in an office, a memorial to the former CEO of Starbreeze Mikael Nermark, who passed away from cancer in 2021.
- It was rumoured among the community that the hockey statue was a hint that Sokol, a playable heister from PAYDAY 2, would be the next returning heister (or a future returning heister). It was eventually confirmed that the hockey statue was a reference to Mikael Nermark being an avid hockey player rather than a hint to Sokol's future addition.

Bugs[]
- (Fixed) AI Bots are stuck on the blue roof and can't move during loud if the player spawned there.
- (Fixed) A small stack of money can be stuck behind a toilet in the restroom, ungrabbable due to a developer oversight that pushed the toilet hiding it too far into the wall.
- (Fixed) The area with the trading booths will instantly give all players a temporary but intense blue filter, making marked enemies slightly harder to see. (It is unknown if this is an oversight or an intended feature.)
