The Gas Dispenser is a special usable equipment in the throwable slot for PAYDAY 2, introduced as part of the H3h3 Character Pack.
Overview[]
The Gas Dispenser is a vape pen loaded with an unspecified juice that lets its user "share" the finer moments of life with a friend. This is manifested in-game as a "heal-link" between the player with this item equipped and an ally standing within 18 meters of them.
Mechanics[]
Using the Gas Dispenser requires two linked players. The link is initiated by looking at a teammate and press the throwable key to "tag" them, whereupon kills made by the partner heals both parties.
The link lasts for 12 seconds and has a cooldown of 60 seconds which begins immediately upon use. During these 12 seconds, each kill made by the player or tagged partner heals the partner for 7.5 HP and the Tag Team player for 15, and kills made by them both extend the effect duration by 1.3 seconds. Kills made by the partner during the effect or the player at any time reduces the cooldown by 2 seconds.
Strategies[]
Due to its effects, the Gas Dispenser works well when used by a support player tagging along with a tank who can control crowds well. Despite its short effect duration, this can be repeatedly extended by actively covering the aggro holder, who will be the one doing much of the healing by getting kills. Players using this equipment should ideally pair up with a single partner to better focus on healing them, as attending to many at once can be a tall order in the heat of battle.
Trivia[]
- The Gas Dispenser the fourth "throwable" to be infinitely reusable without the player having to retrieve anything to make it available again.
- It is also the fourth 'throwable' that requires the use of a specific perk deck as a prerequisite to being equipped, after the Injector, the Smoke Bomb and the Stoic's Hip Flask.
