Mechanics
The skill description is a little misleading - when the drill is placed or when it is upgraded, there is a 30% chance it will be an autorestarting drill. An autorestarting drill will autorestart within 5-20 seconds of breaking down. If the drill does not become an autorestarting drill when placed or upgraded, it will never autorestart. If it does become an autorestarting drill, it will always restart. There is no middle ground. [1]
Strategy
The trip mine deployment boost also applies to C4/shaped charges, so the Basic level of this skill is useful for most Technician builds. Ace should only be taken if nobody else has it or you regularly use the sentry gun.
