The Justicar is a secondary shotgun in PAYDAY 3, added in Update 2.1.2. and returning from PAYDAY 2.

Overview

The Justicar is, as expected, an incredibly powerful revolver shotgun. Having incredible damage and fire rate, the Justicar can be used to effectively crowd control and eliminate Bulldozers in quick succession.

The Justicar's most obvious drawback is its low magazine capacity and ammo pool. While ammo is usually plentiful, the Justicar has a terrible ammo pickup rate and difficulties above Hard proves to be the Justicar's downfall, as the limited ammo pickup rate on Very Hard and Overkill difficulties - combined with its low pickup rate - completely cripples the Juisticar's ammo economy. The Justicar should ideally be used sparingly to avoid severe ammo loss.

• The Justicar is based on Taurus Judge 4510PLYFS.
  • Equipping the Potshot Barrel makes the Justicar resemble the Taurus Home Defender.
• On the Justicar's barrel, the caliber is labeled as ".45/419" instead of ".45/.410".
• The Justicar, like most of PAYDAY 3's weapons returning from previous PAYDAY games, received a new name change (The Judge > Justicar).
  • Presumably, this is either because of the PAYDAY 3 development team's desire to change gun model name to fit the PAYDAY universe, or to avoid potential copyright problems, as the its prior incarnation as The Judge was directly named after the weapon it was based on.
  • The term "Justicar" is a 13th century term, it is the alternate form of "justiciar" and was the English form of the Medieval Latin term justiciarius or justitiarius (meaning judge or justice respectively).
• The addition of the Justicar sees the return of the Silent Killer Suppressor.
