Description
A Beast from the East - this high tech precision sniper rifle is the epitome of modern Chinese military design, allowing you to pick off targets at will from a comfortable distance.

The Káng Arms X1 is a primary weapon in PAYDAY 2, available as part of the Jiu Feng Smuggler Pack 2.

Overview

The Káng Arms X1 is a light sniper rifle comparable to the Lebensauger .308, Grom and Contractor .308, functioning as a semi-automatic armor-piercing M308. As such, it can kill most enemies with one or two headshots with the blessings of a relatively high rate of fire and a generous ammo reserve+pickup rate. Against its brethren, the Káng Arms X1 reloads twice as fast as the Lebensauger, and can achieve greater accuracy and stability than the Contractor with equivalent magazine capacity. It also has the option of using iron sights without the McShay Mod Pack like the Grom, where as the other two sniper rifles cannot.

However, the Káng Arms X1 has the least amount of concealment among its light sniper rifle competitors and no option for a silenced barrel, making it less capable in a build focusing on concealment for dodge and critical hits.

Though if the user simply does not care about concealment, the Káng Arms X1 outperforms the aforementioned sniper rifles when built directly for loud combat.

As a sniper rifle, damage ramps up at long range rather than falling off. Ramp up begins at 20 meters and damage increases linearly, up to 10% bonus damage at 25 meters.

Summary

Pros:

• Tied for highest rate of fire of all sniper rifles with the Lebensauger/Contractor/Grom and can match the Contractor's magazine capacity
• Tied for fastest reload of all magazine-fed sniper rifles with the Grom/Contractor
• Can use iron sights as user preference for optics
• Highest stability of all sniper rifles
  • Stability can utilize its rate of fire better
• Decent damage, can kill most enemies in one head shot on Overkill difficulty and below
  • Damage increases slightly at long range
• High ammo pickup

Cons:

• Damage may make it struggle on difficulties above Overkill without a proper build
• Low total ammo
• Lower concealment than other sniper rifles of its type and no silencer option
• Slow weapon draw/holster

Tips

• High Value Target can help the Káng Arms X1 deal with special units on higher difficulties due to its relatively low damage, especially with the Ace version for more damage when they are further away.
  • This can also combo with the Theia Magnified Scope or the Box Buddy Scope automatically highlighting special enemies.
• Always prioritize headshots when possible, as the Káng Arms X1 has trouble finishing off enemies with just bodyshots. Note that Shields will always fall to a single headshot regardless of difficulty.
• Equipping a custom sight/reticle the user is comfortable with makes followup shots easier in case of misses or dealing with enemies that can withstand a headshot. A laser sight is also preferable to have no matter the configuration.
• Maximum potential concealment is 16 via KA-ZDB1 Short Barrel, iron sights, and a concealment stat boost. While it is not as much as other sniper rifles, it is still possible to benefit from Sneaky Bastard and Low Blow, however this also restricts it to default 10 round magazines and gives it a noticeable accuracy penalty.

UTG LED Weapon light and Laser. Although the main flashlight has a toggle switch, the laser sight component of the LED Combo is pressure-activated, meaning the laser will stay on as long as the pressure switch is depressed. This switch is not placed where it should be, however (on foregrips, magazine wells, etc...) and is instead ziptied to the main taclight, leaving no plausible mean for the user to toggle it without awkwardly moving their off hand off the weapon and gripping the attachment itself. In other words, obscure your target with the small circle to it. While hip firing, the sight lines up relatively close to target, allowing easy hip fire shots at close range. After the release of the Gage Mod Courier DLC, it was reverted to the regular sight's red dot. It is functionally the same as the standard Military Red Dot Sight, but the sight's casing is tan instead of black with the line "A-10" scrawled on near the adjustment knob. The sticker on the lens cap's interior also says "I <3 Payday" instead of having a picture of an American flag. This sight was based on the Aimpoint CompM2 optic. Note(s) In its original setup, this is your standard high spec telescopic sight, but it's been fitted with some auxiliary software and hardware, which adds the following functions: Range Finder Allows you to accurately measure distances up to 200m, displayed on the actual unit and in the reticle. Practical use for this is dubious at best considering that bullets in Payday 2 use hitscan mechanics and have no simulated gravity or windage effects. Furthermore, very few in game locations exist where targets can be engaged from even remotely close to 200 meters away. However, it can be extremely helpful in obtaining the Far, Far Away achievement, as it makes identifying enemies that are at 40m or further much easier. Auto-Tagger In stealth, the scope will automatically tag any enemy you sweep your sights over, and once the alarm has been sounded, it'll auto-tag specials. This acts similarly to the effects of High Value Target Aced, and having the skill will also cause the increased damage and mark duration. Ret with a Barrett Optical Ranging System (a.k.a. Ballistic CPU) installed. The Theia Magnified Scope's in-game optic is extremely simplified compared to the real BORS. The system, when paired with a magnification scope, would show indications of humidity, environmental temperature, barometric pressure and projectile elevation/depression for precise compensation, which the in-game scope lacks, though seeing as every sniper rifle in the game uses a hitscan system to determine shot placement, the other miscellaneous functionalities are likely not needed. When aiming down the sight, there is a dim "Y" above the "M" that stands for meters. This dimmed letter would stand for Yards, a different unit of distance measurement. Since the game only uses the metric system, the reason for this being there isn't exactly clear. The Theia Magnified Scope currently has the largest magnification in the game. In Greek mythology, Theia was the Titan goddess of sight and shining light of the clear blue sky. The method of obtaining the sight is ironic to an almost bizarre degree as it's intended for precision shots at long range and not for something that in reality would be haphazard to the point of being insane (i.e. Zip-line Rifling).
