Low Blow

Low Blow
Fugitive Tier 5
Basic (4 pt): You gain a 3% critical hit chance for every 3 points of concealment under 35 up to 30%.
Ace (8 pt): You gain 3% critical hit chance for every 1 point of concealment under 35 up to 30%.

Mechanics

This skill provides up to a 30% chance for any shot fired by the player to deal headshot damage. This effect works on all enemies, including Bulldozers. If the player scores a critical hit on a shot that would otherwise be a headshot, the headshot damage multiplier is applied twice. For Bulldozers, a special multiplier of 11.5 is used instead of the standard headshot multiplier.[1] A player requires a Detection of 5 to receive the maximum benefit from the Basic version of the skill, while the Aced version provides the maximum benefit at a detection risk (not Concealment) of 25.

The following table shows the Detection Risk levels at which given bonuses to the critical hit chance can be achieved for both Basic and Aced versions of the skill.

Bulldozers, especially in combination with high rate of fire weapons, can be killed very quickly with this skill. Critical hits will guarantee breaking the visor while a critical hit on the Bulldozer's exposed face is virtually guaranteed to finish it off.

Hidden Blade will almost always be taken by players this high in the Fugitive tree and provides an additional two points of concealment to work with. Anyone with a sufficiently leveled Perk Deck will also be given an additional point of concealment to use. While this skill provides one of the highest damage and ammo efficiency boosts in the game, getting maximum benefit from the skill severely limits a player's weapon and armor selection. Players choosing this skill will need to selectloadouts that favor concealment, while maintaining acceptable weapon stats. Players should decide whether to Ace this skill completely, based on their particular weapons and build that desire to use. Note that in actual practice, the critical hit only assists you in killing Maximum Force Responders, GenSec Elites, and Special Enemies.Strategy

Trivia

  • The following weapons are not capable of using the Low Blow's critical chance despite having all the concealment modifications and skills: R93, KSP, Buzzsaw 42 and Brenner.
  • The Rattlesnake and Thanatos .50 cal can both use Low Blow, but it requires all concealment mods and skills, giving the player a detection risk around 29, which will provide 6% with basic version, and 18% with aced.
  • The Nagant and Repeater 1874 are the only sniper rifles that can fully benefit this skill when aced, with the Hidden Blade skill and/or the Blending In perk (in the case of the Repeater, both). They need to be paired with a 30 concealment secondary and melee.
    • The Lebensauger .308 does even better, as not only can it fully benefit from the aced skill without the skill and/or perk, it goes below the detection risk required for maximum benefit, allowing for flexibility in weaponry.
