Examples of mask customization in PAYDAY 3.
In PAYDAY 3, players can once again customize masks to personalize their character. A custom mask consists of a color scheme and a pattern.
Masks in PAYDAY 3 can be purchased from the shop vendor, by buying the silver and gold editions of the game, or by claiming infamous rewards from Starbreeze's website.
Default (Preferred Character)[]
Masks unlocked by default. When you equip this mask, it changes depending on what character you are.
Note: Houston's mask lack an official render, and the wiki is currently using his PAYDAY 2 mask as a temporary substitute.

Not the face of death, now a clown, and kind of split in half with a laughter or giggle poorly held back. The exact symbolism of Wolf's mask is ambiguous at best. To be honest, fuck around and find out is the closest thing to a meaning it might have. A bit insane and runs hot or cold. A bit like its original wearer.

In many ways, this mask is the symbol of the Payday Gang. It stands for the career criminal version of the American dream. Work hard, be loyal to your crew, and build the life you deserve. It doesn't matter who you are. With enough tenacity, all can reach the top. This has always been the mindset of Dallas.
- All default masks except Jacket's, cannot be bought in the Vendor Shop and can only be worn by the heisters who own them.
Infamous Rewards[]
This mask can be obtained by logging in to your nebula.starbreeze.com account and claiming the "PAYDAY 2 Veteran" infamous reward from the PAYDAY 2 to PAYDAY 3 cross promotion campaign. To be able to claim the reward, you have to have launched PAYDAY 2 at least once.
- As suggested by its name, the OG American Dream mask is Dallas' original mask from PAYDAY: The Heist. The mask has cracks and a bullet lodged in its forehead, showing the mask has gone on quite a lot of heists with Dallas to the point where it is in poor condition.
Gleam: Mask Designer[]
These masks can be bought at the Vendor Shop for in-game money.
Mask Moulds[]
The marketing team over at Teddy Moo Entertainment found themselves with a daunting task: Update Teddy’s look for the summer season. They needed to capture the sexy, fun-in-the-sun essence of a beach vacation while still retaining that classic Teddy Moo charm. So, what did they do? They gave him sunglasses. Fucking genius.

Molded by eldritch deities, you were meant for menial labor. A protoplasmic drone without consciousness; a slave to their hypnotic whims. But then you evolved, rallied your fellow heirodules, and drove your masters out of the very temple they commanded you to build. You robbed the gods of their terrestrial throne. A heist of cosmic proportions.
Only fools think that humans dominate the food chain. The true apex predators hunt in plain sight, their vile forms hidden behind perfect humanoid disguises. Never let them catch you alone. They could truly be anyone, and they are always hungry. Always ready to feed.
So, you lied to the judge, huh? Bad move. When you’re on the stand, it only takes one little fib to ruin your life forever. That said, it looks like the judge went a little overboard with you. “Justice is blind.” Yeesh. At least the court had a sense of humor.
You are crime incarnate. Breaking the law is second nature, easy as breathing. Wherever you go, detectives and coroners are guaranteed to follow. The cops would cordon off your entire existence if they could, but it’s much too late for that. The damage is done, and there is so much more where that came from.
You’re one with the market. The indexes and the ticking of the stocks are all you see. Sacrifices are required to reach the top. And you make damn sure that whatever there is to sacrifice for gain belongs to someone else.
The monetary value of anything is nothing more than shifting numbers in the unforgiving market. You hear the whispers of the financial winds and know what to buy, what to sell, and when. At times, you straight up steal what you need. You shall appease the gods of greed.
More. More! Wealth is all there is, and you’ll gobble up every bit of it. The market is your kingdom, and cashing out your lifeblood. One can never be too rich, and you’ll never stop amassing capital—even if you end up choking on it.

Event Masks[]
This mask can be bought at the Vendor Shop for 10 C Stacks.
Most sailors aren’t too happy when they die at sea, but you entered the nautical netherrealm with a positive attitude. Haunting shipwrecks and castaways, you get to meet the most interesting people! They’re never thrilled to see you, of course, but they’ll come around. “Jump on in,” you chuckle. “When you're dead, the water’s always fine.
- The Under Wraps mask, which is based off of an Egyptian mummy, was the first physics-based mask added to the game (meaning that parts of the mask move as you run around; in this case, the straps underneath the teeth.)
- The Flotsam mask is named after a type of ship wreckage found washed up on shores.
Houston Contraband[]
Requires the "Houston Character Pack" DLC. Once you have downloaded the DLC, the Facelift mask can be purchased for 350,000 dollars, and the Public Menace mask can be bought for 50 C-Stacks.
After returning the Hoxton mask to its original owner, the man who would be Houston needed a new face. His updated look remixed elements of his former persona, while also paying tribute to his older brother, Dallas. Houston’s mask is an eclectic mix of inspirations, and the result is something entirely his own.
Gag ’em and bag ’em! If you don’t behave in open court, the law won’t fuck around. You’ll find yourself wearing one of these lovely things. But you know what? It makes you look like a psycho, so why not claim it as your own?
- There has been no official reveal of Houston's new mask mentioned in the description for Facelift.
- The Public Menace mask is a reference to the mask Houston dons in Houston Breakout.
Jacket Contraband[]
Requires the "Jacket Character Pack" DLC. Once you have downloaded the DLC, the Richard Rising mask can be purchased for 350,000 dollars.
Do you like hurting other people? If so, we’ve got the chicken head for you! Put it on to quickly disassociate from even the bloodiest jobs. It’s unclear whether this mask reflects psychological issues or causes them, but who cares? That voice on the phone told you to wear it, and the voices must be appeased!
- This is the only character mask to have no blank "Mould" variation.
- The masking up animation is a unique animation, only being shared with the Santa Rudolph mask.
Mask of the Week[]
These masks rotate every week and can be obtained within that week by spending C-stacks. Once a round of masks has run its course, they will always be available (at double the price) in the Vendors menu.
Round 1[]
Come one, come all! Step right up and get robbed blind! We promise that your captive audience will enjoy the experience! As the saying goes, choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. You’ll be laughing all the way out of the bank!
Sometimes, life can feel like a slap in the face. But that's never kept you down. When the going gets tough, the tough get to work. A positive attitude is all it takes. Life gave you lemons, so you made a big ol' jug of lemonade.
So you kidnapped a lady and climbed to the top of the Empire State Building. What right do these assholes have to get mad? They're the ones who kidnapped you from your island paradise. Shipped you across the globe. Threw you on stage without even telling you your lines. How did they think this was going to play out?
Human martial artists adopted the Rat-style of kung fu for its speed and relentlessness. You chose it because…you’re a rat. Would look really goddamn weird if you fought with the crane-style, you know? Play to your strengths.
They would do anything to please you. Watch how they bend over backwards, put everything on the line, just to see you smile. These stans are utterly devoted, and they would be honored to serve as your human shields. Hostage control has never been easier.
Go on. Take a bite. You know you want to. Oh yeah, put some mustard on me. Get it between the meat and the bun. That’s right. Just the way I like it.
Though he looks the part, Sawyer isn’t actually a licensed river pilot. He won his steamboat from some poor sap in a game of poker, and now he roams the Mississippi with a crew of inland pirates. Eat your heart out, Mark Twain.
The concept made sense at the time. They got AI-powered security? Time to build an AI-powered thief. It can sneak. It can shoot. That first field test at Gold & Sharke started off great, until we realized...We forgot to teach it how to take hostages. Whoops. At least it didn't leave any witnesses?
Round 2[]
When mommy says clean your room, you clean your room. When mommy tells you to go outside, you go outside. And when mommy orders you to get down on the fucking ground and put the money in the bag…You know what to do.
Everyone knows that you’re the brains of the operation. Just look at you! You’ve got brains bursting out of your skull! At least, I think those are brains. You might want to get that checked out, actually.
They’ll do everything in their power to silence you. They will lock you in a cage, and then they’ll throw that cage in the deepest, darkest pit they can find. But no matter what they do, you’ll keep on smiling. No prison can hold you. Not for long.
You’re not really a goofy, laugh-a-minute type of clown, right? More of a humorless, kill-them-all type vibe coming off you. That’s cool. We can work with that.
They want to silence you because you speak the truth. Or, more specifically, you speak the truth in a demonic language that drives people to madness. It’s not your fault they can’t handle the facts!
Change is inevitable. Every caterpillar must turn into a butterfly, and some butterflies must have their wings plucked and turned into cool glasses. It’s not cruel. It’s nature!
Are you crushing skulls, or are you crushing things other than skulls while wearing a skull? Or, are you crushing skulls while wearing a skull you crushed? I may be overthinking this.
Project Anubis was a military experiment that trained jackals in combat and sent them on dangerous black ops missions. Only one agent survived his first assignment. He is a very good boy.
- The Monkey Business mask is based off of Donkey Kong and Bonzi Buddy.
- The Waifu mask resembles an anime girl. It bears significant similarities in appearance to Mew Mew Kissy Cutie from Undertale and .GIFfany from Gravity Falls, but the artist behind the mask stated this was purely coincidental. It is PAYDAY 3's version of "Kawaii" from PAYDAY 2.
- The Steamboat Sawyer mask is based on Popeye the Sailorman, as well as Mario's classic appearance in Donkey Kong, according to the artist.
Mask Mania[]
These masks can be obtained through the Mask Mania event from July 16 - July 21, 2024. Every time you play a heist during the event, you’ll help fill up the progress bar for the corresponding mask by collecting loot. Everyone who plays collectively adds to the progress bar of the mask that represents the heist. If a mask was not fully unlocked during the event, or if you did not participate in unlocking a mask, it will be obtainable through the hardcore challenge system that will be implemented at a later date.[1]
Rev up, inhale those fumes, and put the pedal to the metal, you crazy son of a bitch! If you’re on-site, you’re there to make a big splash! No holds barred, no heister or loot left behind! You’re going at it hard, no fucks given!
That sparkle in your eye isn’t a metaphor. It’s a big-ass uncut diamond worth a fortune. That is a big fuck you to any diamond store owner you decide to rob. They’ll see that you’ve done it before and have enough ice stuck in your face to retire. They’ll know that you’re simply doing it for kicks.
Calmly swimming along, secure in your superiority, you smell prey from miles away. With but a sniff, you know if a bank has poor security or if that cop in the corner has a drinking problem and won’t be a problem. You’ve been there since the dawn of the heisting evolution.
Hey! Can you hear me in there? How much of that shit did you take? I’m fine with you calling my skin a “meadow of velvet clouds,” but stop touching me. Okay, if you’re going out heisting with me, you’re gonna lay low. You’re high as a fucking kite!
- The Shakedown Shark mask was the one to win the event.
- The Disco Molly mask is used as Social Media Manager, Haua’s profile picture on Reddit.
Syntax Error Tailor Pack DLC[]
Requires the "Syntax Error Tailor Pack" DLC. Once you have bought the DLC, you will unlock 1 copy of each mask in your inventory.
Don't be alarmed. We're not here to harm you. We just want to improve every facet of your lives by eliminating that tedious free will of yours. You won't even notice that it's gone. Now, be good humans and step into the neural-scrambler. There you go. This will only hurt for a moment.
Whenever bullies picked on you in school, your mother always said: "Remember. You'll grow up to be a smart, successful criminal mastermind, and they'll just be the deadbeats you take hostage during a bank heist." Wait, your mom said that? Damn, okay. That explains a lot about you.
The other cybernetic soldiers mock C-53 for his outdated combat visor, but he knows they're just jealous. All their "modern" augmentations will look tacky when the next big upgrade comes out. But the retro aesthetic? Never goes out of style.
- The Poindexter mask resembles the Nerd Face emoji.
- The Commander 53 mask has blinking eyes.
Boys in Blue Tailor Pack DLC[]
Requires the "Boys in Blue Tailor Pack" DLC. Once you have bought the DLC, you will unlock 1 copy of each mask in your inventory.
With the fires of hell burning from within, wearing this will undoubtedly put an infernal pep in your step. As an added benefit, most people who cross your path will run the other way.
The urban sprawl can be just as dangerous as any post-apocalyptic wasteland. To you, it doesn't matter; you jump in headfirst and are ready for both. A heist or a roadside raid? This is a good fit for both. No matter what, you're here for the loot!
In a dog-eat-dog world, ferociousness and primal instincts are your friends. You can sniff out any threat and go for the jugular when you find them. And when you find loot that you want, well, you're like a dog with a bone.
Now, how serious can a clown get? Pretty fucking serious, it seems! The combination of a maniacal mind, bleeding-edge technology, and military efficiency is a terrifying one. And look at that, it fits you perfectly.
Houston Breakout Tailor Pack DLC[]
Requires the "Houston Breakout Tailor Pack" DLC. Once you have bought the DLC, you will unlock 1 copy of each mask in your inventory.
My apologies, your honor. It appears the witness is too busy counting the bribe we gave them to testify here today. I’m sure the jury will understand. That’s what we pay them for.
Though these two heisters don’t always see eye to eye, they now have more in common than either of them likes to admit. Hoxton and Houston both know why the caged clown sings, and they value freedom above all else. They did the time, now it’s time for crime!
When you wear this authoritative mask, hostages will treat you with the respect that you deserve. Their fate is in your hands, after all. You are their judge, their jury, and if they step out of line…their executioner.
We’re not saying that all lawyers are demons, but it’s hard to deny that demons would make for excellent lawyers. They’re convincing, they can charm a jury, and all those Faustian bargains have made them experts at contract law. If this guy’s your attorney, remember to read the fine print.
Fear & Greed Tailor Pack DLC[]
Requires the "Fear & Greed Tailor Pack" DLC. Once you have bought the DLC, you will unlock 1 copy of each mask in your inventory.
What could be more capitalist than crime? Your targets have a supply of cash, and you have a demand to take it. You are a private interest, and you’re going to profit no matter what the damn government says. Or the police. Or the people you’re stealing from. That’s basically how trickle-down economics works, right?
This heist on the Exchange is actually a major bucket list item for Wolf. The 2000s financial crisis drove him to a life of crime, and he’s been waiting for a chance to give those stock broker bastards a taste of their own medicine. Se upp, era jävlar! Wolf’s on Wall Street!
The police believe they’re hunting you. Isn’t that adorable? If that were true, they would never catch you in a million years. Oh no, you’re running because you want them to follow. You have a nice little trap set up, and you’re both the hunter and the bait. Your prey will never see it coming.
In a bear market, plummeting share prices encourage brokers to sell their stocks en masse. After the Payday Gang work their magic at the Financial Exchange, the market will go fucking grizzly, and it will maul that piece of shit John Concord to death. Isn’t that a comforting thought?
- The Rushing Bull mask is a reference to the Charing Bull sculpture on Wall Street.
- It may also serve as a reference to a "Bull Market". In which prices rise, often leading investors to buying.
- The Bear Market mask is a reference to a "Bear Market". In which prices fall, often leading investors to selling.
- The Rabbit Season mask represents investors who make risky, short-term investments.
- The Big Bad mask represents investors who are greedy and often engage in unethical practices all in the name of wealth.

Youre a lifetime heister, forged by greed and driven by adrenaline. This mask radiates irreverence, audacity, and independence. It’s just so…you.
- The Coulrophobia mask is a reference to the phobia of the same name, which is a fear of clowns.
- The Black Claret mask is The OG mask but colored red with black circles around the eyes. It might be a reference to the Marvel character Deadpool.
Twitch Drops[]
These masks are obtainable by watching a PAYDAY 3 Twitch stream with "!drops" in the title for three hours.
This one is downright terrifying! It’s top-tier nightmare fuel and the perfect fit when you’re in the mood to cause high levels of psychological trauma. Given your criminal inclinations, it’s precisely the kind of thing you should wear.
You know him. You love him. He’s been heisting with you since the beginning. A thief for the people, Almir’s the bridge between the Payday Gang and their legion of adoring fans. Now he’s back, and this time, he’s got a bomb for a nose. It’s just good marketing. Suit up, wankers! Let’s go rob something!
If you want your crew to excel, you need to foster a sense of community. That’s Tali’s specialty. She knows that it’s not just about explaining the master plan. It’s about getting everyone excited about the plan! We’re going to rob a bank, and we’re going to do it as a team! Go us! Elisabeth is an expert at bringing heisters together. She’s also an expert on beavers for some reason, but that’s neither here nor there.
Decompression sickness is no joke. I knew this guy, he wanted to heist a cruise ship. He waited on the ocean floor until the ship docked, then he swam up with some welding tools. His plan was to cut an entrance through the hull, but he came up too fast. Messed himself up good. The crew brought him onboard to the infirmary, nursed him back to health. He went ahead and robbed them blind once he felt better. Kind of a dick move, in hindsight.
Even though you hide who you are behind a mask, you don’t hide what you are. There is no real rhyme or reason, only want and greed, and your indifference towards those you have to walk over in your pursuits.Yet for you, there is no catharsis.
Ancient, surging with the powers of the elder gods, this is truly the mask of the exalted…” You believe any of that? Nah, me neither. But this one sure looks metal. And if you have a gun in your hand in front of a bunch of cowering bank employees, you might as well lay it on thick.
I’m not sure I want to get into how this hybrid abomination came to be. What goes on in the North Pole should definitely fucking stay in the North Pole. I’m just gonna say Merry Christmas and move on with my life. There are some things you’re better off not knowing…
A quiver in your heart and butterflies in your stomach. All you can smell are roses. But no, you’re not in love or blinded by love. You’re just delirious with pain because you’ve got a pair of rose thorns digging into your eyes.
Let me take a guess: you come in peace, right? And that’s not a raygun and a nefarious probe you're hiding behind your back, is it? I have a very hard time believing you’re on planet Earth for innocent recreational purposes…
- The Almir mask is based on Almir Listo, a member of the public relations team at Starbreeze.

- The Alienated mask and its set of other cosmetics have yet to be released.
Collabs[]
This mask is obtainable by linking your Starbreeze Nebula account to Alienware Arena.
Yo, I don't know where you found this new guy, but I like his style. He thinks big. We're out here robbing banks, armored transports, cargo docks. He talks about robbing entire planets! And I'm almost positive he can read my thoughts. He keeps answering questions I never ask out loud. Really makes me feel seen, you know?
- The Invader mask is PAYDAY 3's version of the Alienware masks from PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2. This one is black in color with purple eyes.
