Walkthrough[]

Players will start off outside the building, and are tasked with getting to the lobby in the back. Three options are presented to the player:

  • Disable the metal detectors
    MountainMaster-Metalbox

    The circuit box

    • On the right side of the reception desk are two metal detectors. Going through them normally will automatically raise the alarm and make the heist go loud. To stay quiet, players can find a circuit box placed randomly in the right side of the lobby. Opening the box and cutting the wires will disable the metal detectors, allowing players to pass though without raising the alarm.
  • Brew some coffee
    MountainMaster-Coffee

    The coffee machine

    • On the left side of the lobby is a coffee machine. Interacting with the machine will draw the guard at the office entrance away from the door, allowing you to slip past. This method can be rather hard, as the right side of the lobby is often populated with cameras and civilians.
  • Use the office door
    • A door leading into the back office is located behind the bar on the right side of the lobby. Players can lockpick the door to access the back office safely.

After reaching the elevators in the back, players will need to find and disable three security boxes in the correct order. These boxes can be in several locations (see variations for details). The current box will have a green light when opened, and interacting with it will enable the next box. Once finished, players must call the elevator from the basement.

Players will then be tasked to find two points of interest: a van containing tools and the power to the elevators. The power to the elevators is located in one of two rooms in the basement elevator lobby. The specific room will be marked with a yellow high voltage sign. Players will also need to find tools located in one of the three vans in the basement garage. The vans can be opened at any point in the heist. The position of the vans will always be the same, but the contents of the trunks will be random (see variations for details). Players can additionally buy the 'Decal Hint' preplanning asset to mark the back of the correct van.

Once the elevators have been disabled and the tools collected, players must breach the elevator door in the main lobby and zipline up to the penthouse floor. Players must turn on a lamp on the right side of the lobby to call down a window washing platform. After cutting the glass and crossing over to the balcony, players must locate a server room hidden behind one of the several bookshelves in the penthouse. The correct bookshelf will automatically highlight itself if the 'Marked Bookshelf' preplanning asset is purchased. Guards will become suspicious of moved bookshelves.

Upon finding the server room, players must open it in one of 4 methods:
MountainMaster-Bookcage

The server room

  • Find the code
    • A clipboard can be found in various locations in the penthouse. The clipboard can be collected and placed at the door, letting players enter the door code and enter silently.
  • Drill the gate
    • Players can drill the door open, though this can be very risky. Guards will notice both the bookcase and drill and will be alerted if they see either.
  • Saw
    • Saws can be used to open the door, same as other doors. This will alert all guards within the vicinity.
  • C4
    • A single shaped charge can be used to open the door. This will alert all guards on the level.
  • Gong
    • By ringing the gong located in the penthouse, the door will open. This will automatically raise the alarm.

Once inside, players must take the hard drive and connect it to Wang's laptop. The laptop can be in multiple locations, typically in Wang's office or bedroom. Players must wait for the decryption to finish, which can be slightly sped up with the 'Overclocking' preplanning asset. Once finished, the hard drive must be secured in the kitchen's dumbwaiter.

With the data secured, players must force Wang out from his meeting room. To do this, players must locate and pull a fire alarm located somewhere in the penthouse. Once triggered, the meeting room doors will open and multiple guards will exit the room, with Wang fleeing to the roof. Players must locate Wang on the roof and kill him. Afterwards, players must secure 4 bags of gold from Wang's locked cabinets. Each requires a key card, with one dropped by Wang himself and one randomly spawning inside the penthouse (typically in the kitchen). Bags may be secured in the dumbwaiter or on the window washing platform.

Upon entering the building, players must access the concierge's computer and give Locke access. Once hacked, players must locate and start hacking one of the three security boxes located in the back of the building (see variations for details). Players must defend the hacking terminal, and restart it from the concierge's computer if it is stopped. Once finished, players must call the elevator from the basement.

MountainMaster-PowerRoom

The maintenance room

Once up top, players must access the maintenance room and restart the elevators. After calling the elevator and waiting for it to arrive, the top panel of the elevator shaft must be detached. Using a rope collected from the maintenance room, players must connect the top of the elevator to the penthouse doors. Once attached, shooting the elevator's cables will drop it, ripping open the penthouse doors.

Once inside, players must locate a server room hidden behind one of the several bookshelves in the penthouse. The correct bookshelf will automatically highlight itself if the 'Marked Bookshelf' preplanning asset is purchased. Upon finding the server room, players must open it in one of 4 methods:

  • Drill the gate
    • Players must drill the door open.
  • Saw
    • Saws can be used to open the door, same as other doors.
  • C4
    • A single shaped charge can be used to open the door.

Once inside and the hard drive collected, the players need to breach the meeting room doors to reach Wang.

The meeting room doors can be breached in two different methods:

  • Car
    • Players can use the car in the penthouse lobby to smash the meeting room doors open. First start by rotating the car into the correct position. Then, players must use the gas and jack in the trunk to prepare the car. Players must also use the car keys to open the car door. These keys can be found in a safe located somewhere in the penthouse, and can be obtained at any point. Alternatively, if the 'car keys' preplanning asset is purchased, the keys will be left out next to the car. After starting the car and letting it build up speed, interacting with the jack will drop the car and send it crashing into the meeting room doors.
  • Thermite
    • If the 'Thermite' preplanning asset is purchased, players can obtain a can of thermite from the dumbwaiter in the kitchen. Once placed on the door, players must wait for it to burn through for the doors to fall apart. This process can not be interrupted.
Wang armor

The Mountain Master

Once the doors are opened, players must climb to the room to find and kill Wang. Wang will have armored himself, equipped with a unique ICTV and flamethrower. Players must fight and kill Wang. Refer to his status page for details. Once Wang is dead, players must secure 4 bags of gold from Wang's locked cabinets. Each requires a key card, with one dropped by Wang himself and one randomly spawning inside the penthouse (typically in the kitchen). Bags may be secured in the dumbwaiter or the helicopter once it arrives.

Variations[]

  • Power boxes will spawn in several different locations:
    • Back office
    • Left side of elevator lobby
    • Right side of elevator lobby
    • Left side of basement elevator lobby
    • Right side of basement elevator lobby
    • In the caged area to the left in the basement garage
    • In the alcove to the right in the basement garage
  • The contents of each van's trunk will be randomly chosen:
    • One van will be empty.
    • One van will always have three tablets worth $1,000.
    • One van will have the tools needed to breach the elevator shaft.
  • The location of the server room will be behind a different bookshelf each time.
  • The safe containing the car keys can appear in three different locations.
  • Wang's laptop will spawn in various locations.
    • It will typically spawn in either his office or bedroom.

Points of Interest[]

  • A gong located in the penthouse can be rung if shot or punched. Doing this in stealth will raise the alarm.
    • If the heist is in stealth and the player has moved the correct bookcase to reveal the server room, ringing the gong will open the server room door.
  • An ammunition cage on the roof can be opened to access the resupply racks inside.
  • Vents on the roof can be opened and used to dispose of body bags.
  • Two ladders on the roof can be lowered to quickly access the lower penthouse floors.
  • Located in the basement garage will be a white car with an active alarm. Opening the trunk of this car will reveal a gnome, as well as raising the alarm. The gnome must be secured in the helicopter escape.

Mayhem+ Changes[]

  • All cameras will become Titan cameras.
  • A guard will be added to the basement garage.

Achievement locked I

Achievement locked these names that I write. How long could the last name be when I
Achievement locked am doubling the number of characters for every name and every new achievement that I add here. It'll be just a ridiculous length
Achievement locked of the last name would be. I mean can you imagine the vast amount of letters I would need to reach this incredibly stupid and pointless goal? I mean I am just on the ninth and I am already running out of ideas. How will I ever hope to reach the final names
Achievement locked in this list of achievements. I mean come on! This achievement name is at five hundred and twelve characters, and the next will be one thousand and twenty-four and if my elementary school math is not failing me then the last one will be two thousand and forty-eight and I am already resorting to writing numbers as letters. I thought that this was a clever ploy but I am still only three-fourths of the way through the names. Oh, geez Louise on a cracker, please! How could I ever think this was a good idea. You
Achievement locked can however blame OVERKILL_Elisabeth for giving me stupid ideas and OVERKILL_Sebastian for not stopping me from doing these things. Basically, I say that these people are enablers for my shenanigans. Oh, that was a good word, nice and long that and with trying to reach a total of four thousand and ninety-five characters of complete nonsense then nothing is superfulöouse or excessive. I mean this is about the halfway point of this silly-billy name, and once I reach the end of this name I am at the halfway point of everything I need to write. Whoopie Floppoing Doo, this is as much cringe to me as they are for you. If you read this far I applaud your dedication and sheer power of will. You might find it interesting that I got the idea of this poorly thought-out, foolheartedly, and frankly very childish fear of keyboard deterioration from the Chessboard problem. Those familiar would have picked up on this long ago since you have clearly had a lot of time to figure it out before you came to this point in the text.
Achievement locked So what is the chessboard problem you ask? Well, let me tell you. The problems appear in many myths and legends about the history and creation of chess. The first know recording of the problem is from 1256 by the Islamic scholar Ibn Khallikan. The story revolves around the inventor of chess, in some versions of the story the role is played by Sissa a mythological creature from India known for the invention of Chaturanga, a predecessor to Chess. In other versions of the main protagonist might is a mathematician, a minister, or in some a stranger or someone of poor decent like a farmer. The story often has a ruler of some sort approach the protagonist and ask them to entertain them with a new game. The inventor presents their ruler with the game of chess and the ruler asks the inventor for his price. The inventor ponders this ask for a simple offering based on his creation. A single grain of rice or some versions say wheat, on the first square and double that amount on the second square and double that amount on the third square and so one for the sixty-four squares of the chessboard. The ruler laughs at the meager price and accepts but his court treasurer tells him that the staggering about of rice, or wheat, needed to fill the board in this manner. The total would be eighteen quintillions, four hundred forty-six quadrillion, seven hundred forty-four trillion, seventy-three billion, seven hundred nine million, five hundred fifty-one thousand, six hundred and fifteen, over one point four trillion metric tons. Or put simply which is over two thousand times the annual world production of wheat, which in the period twenty-twenty to twenty-twenty-one was an estimated about seven hundred seventy-three million metric tones. Anyway, the stories do differ and this point. Some say that the inventor gets offered a nice position as a high-ranking advisor and in other versions, he gets executed. Now there is probably a moral here but low and behold I am out of character. One could say that is the definition of irony, isn't it?

  • No Gnome Left Behind is a reference to the Garden Gnome from the Half Life and Left 4 Dead games. The gnome has to be carried through the entire mission to the final location in all 3 games.
  • For The Mad Hatter is a reference to The Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll's 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, who is frozen in time forever stuck at 6pm in an endless tea party. The Hatter tried to sing to the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts who sentenced him to death by decapitation. Father Time retaliated and froze The Mad Hatter in time out of respect for him. The "Laohu Dashi" outfit is a reference to Bruce Lee and his yellow jumpsuit. The name translates to "Tiger Master", referencing the black and yellow colors of the outfit.

Trivia[]

  • Throwing bagged bodies over the balcony railings of the penthouse will set off a car alarm in the streets, which in turn, will raise the alarm.
