The Turret is an equipable weapon in PAYDAY 2. It is only found on Midland Ranch and Lost In Transit.

Overview[]

The Turret is a mounted weapon, and can only be used on heists where it is featured. It has incredibly high damage, which is offset by the weapon's limited ammo pool. The turret is surprisingly accurate, allowing players to suppress targets at longer ranges than that of an LMG. It can only be used in six different locations, each being relatively exposed to enemies.

Summary[]

Pros:

Cons:

  • Limited Ammo
    • Can only refill depending on the placements remaining
  • Can only be used in limited positions
  • User must be stationary while operating turret

Tips[]

  • The turret has AP Rounds, letting it shoot through shields, light cover, and enemies.
  • The turret also features shotgun push effects, much like the Gecko M2, which sends killed enemies flying.
  • Unlike most special weapons, the turret does not have restrictions against using crits or skills. This lets it benefit from various damage boosting skills.
    • The turret can crit, and any skills that boost crit chance will function.
    • The turret can benefit from damage boosting skills, such as Overkill Aced and Berserker Aced
    • The turret will activate Lock N' Load Aced, but only if the weapon the player was previously holding matches the skill's requirements (full auto and weapon type).
    • The turret also indirectly benefits from the Bulletstorm skill. If a player triggers the bulletstorm skill via an ammo bag, the infinite ammo time will apply to any used turret as well.
    • However, the turret will not receive the damage bonus from Body Expertise, despite being in auto fire mode.

Trivia[]

  • The Turret is designed after the M2 Browning machine gun; more specifically the M2HB model with an attached front shield.
