The PAYDAY 2 10th Anniversary is a community event for PAYDAY 2 that took place from August 13, 2023 to August 22, later extended to August 24. The event featured a special game mode, free outfits, weapons, and other special rewards for playing. Released alongside the event was a special community challenge, with each milestone reached providing new rewards for all players.

Daily Events[]

On the event's website, each day is accompanied with a voiceover by Ian Russell as his character Vernon Locke recapping the releases and events of a year in the history of PAYDAY 2, the last day having two voiceovers.

  • Day 1: Overkill Software hosted a Twitch livestream that featured the members of the game studio 10 Chambers, the developers of GTFO and made up of former members of Overkill.

  • Day 3: Players could submit text recounting memories they've had playing the game, with those being approved by Overkill being posted on the page's list of memories, all approved submissions being listed in a random order.

  • Day 4: The Cash Blaster and Piggy Bank gamemode from previous anniversary events returned, with the latter coming with new mechanics and rewards. Additionally, the final Lost Tape was added to the game, along with an achievement for collecting all four Lost Tapes that unlocks a mask, an outfit, and a pair of gloves. Finally, it was announced that players could unlock content for PAYDAY 3 through certain PAYDAY 2 achievements, the details of which are explained on this website.

  • Day 5: A second volume of Simon Viklund's music composed for the game was released on Spotify.

  • Day 6: The website's page for day 6 features all 4 Lost Tape recordings to be listened to without having to collect them in-game, and links to a series of video guides for collecting them made by Cloud Dasher.

  • Day 7: A teaser for a live-action trailer for PAYDAY 3 was released.

  • Day 9: Overkill released a video wherein the game's developers discuss the making of PAYDAY 2.

  • Day 10: The earlier-teased live-action trailer, Follow The Money, was released, as well as a trailer for Gamescom. Additionally, it was announced that in an upcoming update a "Dead Game" outfit would be added to the game.

10th Anniversary Gamemode[]

The 10th Anniversary event is a returning gamemode, being a remixed version of the 9th Anniversary gamemode. During this event, select heists are available for the event. Player's must select the "Play Event" menu option in order to select the event versions of the heists.

The Piggy Bank returns, with a new friend to heat things up!

In these heists, players must kill a certain amount of enemies to spawn "Piggy Bucks". By securing Piggy Bucks at the piggy bank, the piggy bank will slowly grow and increase the final reward players receive. Once the piggy bank is full, or if players wish to end the event early, the piggy bank can be smashed to add extra cash, experience, and continental coins to the heist's payout. Bags spawn after:

The piggy bank level up after fed a certain amount of bags: 1, 20, 80, 240, and 560 for level 5. After leveling up, the players will be given various buffs. No more than 8 buffs can be active at a time. Certain buffs will only be given depending on what level the piggy bank is upgraded to.

3/5 Special Ammo Every bullet fired has the following properties:
60% chance of no effect
10% chance of becoming an AP round (penetrates walls, enemies, and shields)
10% chance to become an incendiary round
10% chance to become a poison round
10% chance to become an explosive round
4/6 Instant Revive Players will be automatically revived 2 seconds after going down.
4/6 No Downs Consumed Players have a 50% chance to not use a down when becoming downed.
4/6 Damage Reduction Players recieve a 10% damage reduction.
4/6 Armor Regeneration Armor regenerates 25% faster.


Upon smashing the piggy bank, various rewards will be given to the player upon completion of the heist.

Warthog

Warthog

The Warthog (or "Piggydozer") is a special bulldozer variant that only appears when playing the special anniversary event. The Warthog is a regular bulldozer wearing a worn brown suit with fading red cloth, with a warthog's face painted onto the faceplate.

They are equipped with specialty flamethrowers that function similar to the regular Flamethrower Mk.1. Their flamethrower has a range of 15m, slightly longer than other flamethrowers. Much like other flamethrower enemies, the Warthog's flamethrower will ramp up in damage the closer the player is. This can reach up to 80% more damage at close range on and above Overkill difficulty. The damage the Warthog inflicts will bypass the effects of Swan Song and make players go down immediately upon their health being depleted.

They also have a "throwable cocktail" attack, creating flames around them if a player gets within 3m.

Warthogs are similar to other boss enemies in that they are immune to fire, ECMs, and all other stuns. They also receive a 50% resistance to explosions, unlike the regular bulldozer's 10% vulnerability. Lastly, their visors can not be broken and they will not take any extra headshot damage.

A Warthog will always spawn when the piggy bank levels up, and begin to hunt down the players. Warthogs will drop a random amount of bags when killed, which often go to waste if they are not near the piggy bank when killed.

You will unlock 1 of each mask in your inventory. It can't drop during a PAYDAY and can't be sold. Instead, it can be returned to your mask stash for free, but any pattern, color or material as well as the customization fee to put these together will be lost.
