- "You're not, like, the victim here! Alright?! I'm the one who got hogtied on his birthday, and not in a fun way, okay?! I'm the one who still has NIGHTMARES about the FUCKING CLOWNS with FUCKING GUNS!!! But I can't afford therapy, because we're hemorrhaging money because my DUMBASS DAD won't talk to the FUCKING PRESS!!!"
- —Ralph Garnet in Lost Tape #3
Ralph Garnet was the son of Nathan Garnet, the founder and head of Garnet Group, a luxury company that specializes in art and diamonds. He made his first appearance in PAYDAY: The Heist as a major character in Diamond Heist, reappeared in PAYDAY 2 in the Diamond Heist (Payday 2) remake and Lost Tape #2, and finally as a major antagonist in PAYDAY 3.
Background[]
PAYDAY: The Heist[]
During Ralph's birthday party, the same day as Diamond Heist, he gets tied up by the Payday gang so that they could get the keycard to the vault which holds his father’s personal diamonds.
PAYDAY 2[]
As of Lost Tapes #3 “Keeping up with the Garnets”, Nathan Garnet becomes reclusive and somewhat insane after the Diamond Heist, as his personal fortune of diamonds were stolen and Garnet stocks plummeted after the robbery, causing him to spiral into bankruptcy. He becomes extremely obsessed with the downfall of the Payday gang, as such he even refuses to comment on the media saying that his company will never recover. After his company goes bankrupt, Nathan Garnet commits suicide, leaving his son to take it over. Ralph Garnet has nightmares about the robbery, but with the family now left with barely any money, he can’t afford therapy and even has to sell all his yachts.
PAYDAY 3[]
Ralph Garnet took part in the plan to take out the Payday gang, along with John Concord, ex-CEO of Murkywater, and Patricia J. Sharke, CEO and owner of the Gold and Sharke bank, hoping to get revenge for his family's downfall. When members of the gang are shown to have survived the assassination attempt and are back operating in New York, the group tried to find other methods of attacking them.
Growing increasingly frustrated at making no progress, Ralph attempts his own way of making it happen with a large deal the Wixia corporation. Unfortunately, when the Payday Gang interferes with his deal, this leads to billions in lawsuits being filed against Garnet, effectively destroying what little he had left.
Ralph is subsequently killed in his home by an unknown assailant on the orders of John Concord, his murder being staged as a suicide in a similar vein to his father's death.
Trivia[]
- Ralph ends up the same way as his father did after the Diamond Heist: trying to obsessively get revenge against the Payday gang, but ultimately dying in the process. While his father died by suicide, Ralph's death was staged to be one.
