At the time, I think I was concerned that there would be some ambiguity if they were all labeled simply (skill). For example, Sharpshooter from PD:TH might reasonable be confused for a "skill" by someone in a hurry, so I fear that label wouldn't completely serve its purpose of disambiguation.
Those were just my personal thoughts when I created the pages; I'm not sure if others would agree. What do you think we should do?
I don't really know whether it's necessary to name each page (Skill) as it's pretty obvious in many cases and where necessary it is specified. However, I'd suggest that given that PD2 is the active Payday title, with easily the larger number of current players, it would be fair to drop (Payday 2) from Sharpshooter (Payday 2) and instead rename Sharpshooter as Sharpshooter (Payday: The Heist).
It might be worth considering a sort of "hierarchy" of pages in order to decide which page(s) should have the suffix added.
@Hassat I wouldn't be opposed to appending (skill) to the 5 listed pages if you think it would be easier to understand.
@Jemjar You raise an interesting point... It is more likely that someone would look up sharpshooter from Payday 2 than from Payday: The Heist. However, at the moment, the wiki's convention seems to be that pages from Payday 2 have the game name appended and pages from PD:TH do not (See Category:Characters vs. Category:Characters (Payday 2), Category:Weapons vs. Category:Weapons (Payday 2), and so on).
I agree that we should try to establish a better naming "hierarchy" but this would involve renaming a rather large number of pages and categories, so we should try to reach some sort of community consensus.
3 out of 5 already got it. It's just that we now have 3 seperate ways to distinguish PD2 skills from other pages, and I assume we want one golden rule for it.
Yeah, my mistake. I think (skill) would work fine for Sentry Gun and for Sharpshooter. Payday 2 is the only game (so far) in the series to use skills, so that should suffice.
Everyone in agreement?
Also Category:Candidates_for_deletion is getting crowded now... feel free to ask me why I added stuff if you're unsure why they are there :)
