Payday Wiki

So due to my long history with this game, and the number of weapons and upgrades that it offers, I've found that sticking with one build or loadout for too long gets awfully boring. So recently I've been experimenting a little more with effective loadouts. The word 'effective' can be a little grey when it comes to Payday so let me define that. An effective weapon is A) Ammo efficient, requiring very few uses from an Ammo Bag B) Felxible, it offers long range support as well as options for panicky sections and C) Must cover medium, long, and short range. Granted different loadouts will serve different purposes on different Heists, but still, what is the build that you keep coming back to? For me, they are:

Handgun: Crosskill (Very ammo efficient, medium range) or STRYK (A new addition, will only use with Extra Startout Ammo, great panic weapon)

Primary: Either AK or M308 (Both offer long range options, but one is more offensive while the other is more defensive)

Secondary: GL40 (Pretty much the only option for secondary, great for Special units)

Upgrade: Extra Startout Ammo (Makes the STRYK actually usable, and the AK gets a whopping 200 rounds, it makes Ammo Bags weep at night)

Alternatively I've dabbled in a little Support Class Build with:

Handgun: Bronco (This is the Special Unit killer, good heavy weapon, can operate medium-long range with enough skill)

Primary: Reinbeck (Great Shotgun, large capacity, and usually takes most Cops out in one shot on Hard and Overkill)

Secondary: Compact-5 (This effectively replaces the Handgun, operating similar to the STRYK with more of an emphasis on headshots, since the Bronco is your heavy weapon)

Upgrade: Thick Skin (Just because this build is pretty ammo effecient as is)

So what are your builds, what do you recommend?
